Wolfster 2: The Wrath of the Egyptian Mummy from Egypt

You remember Wolfster don’t you? He was your average bloke before an Emo vampire turned him into a werewolf. The incantation was screwed up however, so not only can Wolfster change into a werewolf whenever he wants, but also is aware that he’s in a movie.

The premise was amusing enough for one feature, but can it carry on to another story? Well, yes and no.

“Wolfster Part 2” lacks some of the charm of the first movie, but still had some really funny lines in it (my personal favorite is the explanation of why vampires don’t like crosses) and since it clocks in at under 35 minutes there’s not a lot of filler that needs to be made.

Apparently if you make an amulet out of Dracula’s blood, it’s imbued with vampire powers…so a mummy wielding one would be a force to be reckoned with. Dracula (Henrique Coutro, in essence playing himself) joins forces with Wolfster to bring down said mummy and bring peace once again to the woodland creatures. Or something like that.

What the movies lacks in logic and decent effects it makes up for in laughs. With about as much political correctness as a Mel Brooks film, “Wolfster Part 2” bounds merrily along, mocking racial and religious groups along the way like a bigoted St. Bernard.

Oh, and one of my favorite characters from the first film, Beth (Jessie Deep) makes her return. There’s nothing cooler than a lesbian movie geek/computer nerd, and she has one of the nicest pairs of natural breasts around, and luckily unbuttons her shirt just enough to prove it. Hooray for cleavage! Hooray I say! All good heroes need office support.

I can recommend “Wolfster Part 2” – but you have to come in with an open mind. The effects aren’t quite Hollywood, the sound is suspect in a couple spots, and the story isn’t exactly something for the classics section of your local library – but it was funny, and at the end of the day that overcomes laughable costumes.

The extras included some bloopers and discussions with the actors. The menu was incredibly loud for some reason (on a couple different DVD players) but it was a fun half hour, and I’m curious to see where the crew goes from here. 3 cans out of 5.
