Pirates of Ghost Island

I'd rather walk the plank into a sea of frenzied sharks then watch this piece of crap again. I've learned from movie reviewing that all directors are not in this biz to make an award taking film, they want to make films of the stories that interest them. Pirates of Ghost Island has to be one of the worst efforts I have ever seen. Bad acting, bad effects-- bad everything!

A group of teens are on a boat that can't handle the storm and they awaken stranded on Ghost Island. They think they are alone until they meet the cranky captain who is looking for his lost love Liza who just so happens to be student Sara reincarnated. The effects were awful, like this one girl was attacked by a killer bush...a friggin bush. The Pirates were all looking like they might have scurvy, I wouldn't want to be near any of those dirty beards.

I really can't even imagine the cast and crew watching this film with interest or without thinking to themselves "Man this is really bad, I hope people just fixate on the somewhat decent DVD box cover and buy it on a whim!" When they sent it out to be reviewed its key marketing points were using the statement "Lost meets Pirates of the Caribbean." The only thing remotely lost is their effort with this film.

So as we watch the teens pathetically battle these loser pirates to try and get off the island alive we think to ourselves can't we just keep the button on fast forward instead of watching this painful screener and use it as a fly swatter instead? I would not recommend this flop to anyone, it's so bad I think people would hunt me down and beat me if I did!
