I’m a fan of BumsCorner--it has more thoughtful and detailed reviews than most such sites.

Elizabeth Blue
Elizabeth is a return guest to our Christmas special...but we have a soft spot for any woman that can mention firearms (twice) in a holiday interview. She freekin' rocks.

BumsCorner: You look familiar...where have I seen you before?
Elizabeth: Probably in a bar, if you’ve been in one of those lately. ;) You may not have seen me, personally, but you may have seen something I either wrote or edited, like Drown in Fear, which has been out since 2004, or The Travel Guide to the Haunted Mid-Atlantic Region, an anthology released in March 2006 that I co-edited.

BumsCorner: What's your favorite Christmas movie?
Elizabeth: Oooh – I have a new one! Santa’s Slay. It’s one of those So Bad It’s Good movies. One of those Must Have Alcohol to Enjoy movies.

BumsCorner: Do you cook around the holidays, or let other people do the work?
Elizabeth: I do all of the cooking. Starting about a week before Christmas, I start making things like fudge (in several different varieties, using both tried-and-true recipes as well as experiments) and cookies. Christmas Eve, I spend cooking, for the most part. Well, cooking and drinking. I try to get all the cooking done before I’m three sheets to the wind. My family and friends come over, I feed them stuff like country ham, greens, macaroni and cheese, hot rolls, snaps (which most people call green beans, lol.) and any other vegetable I feel like inventing a recipe for.

BumsCorner: Any particular tunes get you in the Christmas spirit?
Elizabeth: Any Christmas music sung by Elvis Presley. I’m kinda fond of Bing Crosby, too. And I dearly love the John Waters Christmas CD.

BumsCorner: Do you shop through the year, or last minute rush?
Elizabeth: I’m a last minute kind of girl. It’s, what, 7 days ‘til Christmas Eve, and I haven’t even started shopping yet! I’m going to do Marathon Shopping this Friday and Saturday.

BumsCorner: We're having drinks with Santa later, any one particular gift
we should tell him you want?
Elizabeth: A Beretta M9A1.

BumsCorner: Snow: makes the spirit bright, or cold white death?
Elizabeth: It makes the spirit bright. I like snow. I hate cold weather, though. But if it’s going to be cold, I’ll be happy only if it’s snowing. Otherwise, I’m grumbling about how cold it is. (For the record, anything under 70 is cold to me.)

BumsCorner: Working on any cool projects you can tell us about?
Elizabeth: I’m finishing up a non-fiction book about ghosts in the Tidewater, Virginia region. I really can’t say much more than that about it. I’m editing a novel, and have plans to finish an incomplete one in the spring.

BumsCorner: How do you REALLY feel about carolers?
Elizabeth: I’d like to shoot them all in the face.

BumsCorner: I've got some mistletoe I was going to sneak above the door before you left, should I even bother, or will you pretend you don't see it and scurry out of here like the last girl?
Elizabeth: Hee, hee! I’d give you a big old smooch, of course!

BumsCorner: Have you been naughty or nice this year?
Elizabeth: Naughtier than ever before!

BumsCorner: What's the all-time greatest TV Christmas special?
Elizabeth: The Year Without a Santa Claus, no question about it.

BumsCorner: Screw all the Whos in Whoville...any final words for all the Bums in Bums Corner?
Elizabeth: Merry Christmas. May Santa never bring you a social disease.
