Christmas with the Scream Queens - 2004:
Katherine Leis
Beauty, talent, and a wicked sense of humor.

Scraps: What are your favorite Christmas movies?
Katharine: "A Christmas Story" is one I like to see every year...there's something about the bunny suit and the leg lamp scenes that just never gets old I think...I used to love those claymation movies when I was little, but now, not so much.

Scraps: Any songs get you in the Christmas spirit?
Katharine: The John Lennon one that starts, "So this is Christmas, and what have we done..." I like that song a lot. Other than that, I feel like wearing earplugs (or jamming pencils in my ears) when I go to the mall because the happy Christmas music in general combined with the moody shoppers just never seems to jive.

Scraps: Do you shop early, or enjoy the last minute rush?
Katharine: If I shop early, I end up giving everyone their presents WAY before Christmas. I don't usually end up with much for people right at Christmas, but lots before and after. Call me a rebel.

Scraps: Do you cook at home for your family and friends, or prefer to have other people do the work?
Katharine: I love cooking. I loathe cleaning up. I usually end up with help on the cleaning up end so it works out well.

Scraps: What's your favorite all-time Christmas food?
Katharine: I dig a cup of egg nog once a year. Kind of like Shamrock Shakes around St. Patrick's Day...I have zero cravings for them unless it's the right time of year.

Scraps: What one gift are you really hoping for this year? Anything you love to give out to your friends and family?
Katharine: There's not too much I really want...oh wait, is this where I'm supposed to say "World Peace" and look very solemn and sincere? I appreciate gifts but there's not really too much I want that's not killer expensive, and I don't think I'd even accept a gift that cost a bundle. I like gifts that show people really tried to figure out something I'd like. I think even if I already have one or if it's not really something I'd choose, it shows that they put thought and effort into it and I appreciate THAT immensely.

Scraps: Working on any projects right now that the BumsCorner community should know about?
Katharine: I'm working on a couple of horror short movies right now. Part comedy and part horror, my favorite. Look for them to screen at Megacon in Orlando this March, and hopefully some festivals before then. I'll post details on my website as they materialize.

Scraps: Snow...makes the season bright, or cold, wet white evil?
Katharine: Snow is beautiful in pictures, but cold weather is just about my least favorite thing. I've been heading South to escape it for years, starting in Canada and now in Orlando. Even here, January and February I stay indoors in the heat as much as possible.

Scraps: Christmas Carols...get you in the holiday spirit, or more like chewing on aluminum foil?
Katharine: I can't say anyone has ever come a' caroling to my door...well I could but it would be a flat out lie, but I think they are OK. My voice is on par with that of a shrieking cat so I tend to just mouth along in a group or pretend to have a cough if ever asked to chant solo.

Scraps: Have you been naughty this year, or nice?
Katharine: Oh goodness, I've been a real jerk. I'll be lucky to even get coal.

Scraps: Have anything nice to say about Rufus and Scraps, the Head Bums of BumsCorner?
Katharine: Rufus and Scraps are the best bums ever!
