Christmas with the Scream Queens - 2004:
Athena Demos
Movie and TV star Athena Demos must have thought we were idiots...not many websites want to do Christmas interviews with Jewish horror icons. That's what makes us so endearing!

Scraps: What are your favorite Christmas movies?

Athena: A Christmas Story is my favorite xmas movie but I really don't watch xmas movies that much. We need a really good scary xmas movie.

Scraps: Any songs get you in the Christmas spirit?

Athena: I don't celebrate xmas because I am Jewish. I hate xmas music. It drives me insane. Especially when radio stations play it over and over all day long during the xmas season. I just stay out of all stores as much as possible so I don't have to listen to that music.

Scraps: Do you shop early, or enjoy the last minute rush?

Athena: I shop around January and get all the after xmas sales. I might pick up one or two items sometime in the fall. I hate shopping anytime after Thanksgiving and try to stay as far away from stores at possible. I do a lot of online shopping as well.

Scraps: Do you cook at home for your family and friends, or prefer to have other people do the work?

Athena: I love cooking and spend a lot of time cooking for friends. Most of the dinners I go to are more like dinner parties where everyone prepares their favorite dish and we all share.

Scraps: What’s your favorite all-time Christmas food?

Athena: I love apple cider. But most other xmas food I really don't care for. The baked good are great, but I can get those year round.

Scraps: What one gift are you really hoping for this year? Anything you love to give out to your friends and family?

Athena: I never hope for any gift. I'm just happy for the friends and family I have. I never ask or hope for birthday presents either. I just throw a huge party and having my friends around me is gift enough. I love to give useful gifts. Things people will use almost everyday and think about me. I actually hate the idea that you have to give gifts around xmas, because people tend to forget that you should be giving a little something all the time and anytime, just because.

Scraps: Working on any projects right now that the BumsCorner community should know about?

Athena: I just finished shooting a film called "Terminal." I don't have anything in the works yet. Still looking for funding for a great period vampire film to be shot in Austria.

Scraps: Snow...makes the season bright, or cold, wet white evil?

Athena: Snow? I live in LA. We have sand. I go to the beach or hiking on xmas day.

Scraps: Christmas Carols...get you in the holiday spirit, or more like chewing on aluminum foil?

Athena: Happy for the Carolers but don't do it around me. I would rather chew on aluminum foil then sit and listen to songs that make the hair on my neck stand on end.

Scraps: Have you been naughty this year, or nice? don’t have the “List” like Santa>

Athena: Naughty or Nice is a matter of judgment based on someone else's moral issues. In one conservative view (similar to our president's) I have been very naughty and should be burned at the stake, but to everyone who really knows me, I'm the nicest person they have ever met.

Scraps: Have anything nice to say about Rufus and Scraps, the Head Bums of BumsCorner?

Athena: I'm glad Rufus and Scraps are doing interviews of scream queens in December. Most of the time we are forgotten about till next September when everyone is scrambling for their interviews for Halloween.
