Leslie Delano
Photographer, writer, director, actress, model. It's a damned good thing Leslie doesn't cook, otherwise I'd have another restraining order!

Scraps: What are your favorite Christmas movies?

Leslie: A Christmas Story-- one of the funniest movies, ever. Rudolph the red Nosed Reindeer, The Grinch-- who needs CGI, these are CLASSICS.

Scraps: Any songs get you in the Christmas spirit?

Leslie: I was in glee club in high school, and we sung Ave Maria at Avery Fishery concert hall in NYC, so that song definitely brings back Christmas!

Scraps: Do you shop early, or enjoy the last minute rush?

Leslie: I'm so efficient in anything related to work, but man, I am a strange girl in that I really don't like shopping. I actually prefer to shop for other people because you can be creative; for yourself, its like, do I really need this, who thinks lime green is a color anyone should wear, why is a size 2 all they have here? So I tend to leave it til the last minute then I zip out to weird stores and get my friends odd presents.

Scraps: Do you cook at home for your family and friends, or prefer to have other people do the work?

Leslie: I'm not allowed to microwave water for coffee, so I look to the kindness of anyone, even strangers at In N Out burger, to feed me!

Scraps: What's your favorite all-time Christmas food?

Leslie: Yule log--those things that look like giant ho-ho's, chocolate cake with cream and rolled up like a log. Failing that, advent calendars do make me look at what day it is because they reward me with chocolate (do we sense a chocolate food group theme here?)

Scraps: What one gift are you really hoping for this year?

Leslie: I don't really like presents-- again, I'm a weird girl--I buy myself whatever I need. However, a lot of my friends are artistic and they make me things--paintings, scarves, cards etc--that I like.
Also, not to sound corny, but a lot of my friends have gone through really rough times this year--losing parents, cancer etc. I wish them much brighter and happier times, their happiness is a gift to me I can't stand seeing other people suffer.

Scraps: Anything you love to give out to your friends and family?

Leslie: Photo mugs!! Since I do photography now I take pics whenever possible and make up funny coffee mugs with the images! At least its better than fruitcake (who INVENTED that stuff, anyway, blech)

Scraps: Working on any projects right now that the BumsCorner community should know about?

Leslie: As a matter of fact, I am going to shoot a fashion spread with plus sized models that has 'Blair Witch' overtones..stay tuned;)

Scraps: Snow...makes the season bright, or cold, wet white evil?

Leslie: Living in LA, I can say snow is gorgeous and fun ; even when I go home to NYC to visit I don't mind snow. When I lived in Chicago, however, it was the 7th circle of hell as far as I was concerned.

Scraps: Christmas Carols...get you in the holiday spirit, or more like chewing on aluminum foil?
Leslie: If they are sung well, they're fun, but you have to be in the mood or you want to decapitate the whole lot of them.

Scraps: Have you been naughty this year, or nice?

Leslie: I think I'm charming, though I'm sure if you polled people around me they'd opt for euthanasia. I can't help it I'm a capricious creature who is ruled by hormones! Feed me chocolate and I'm really better, I swear ;)

Scraps: Have anything nice to say about Rufus and Scraps, the Head Bums of BumsCorner?

Leslie: I love people who don't necessarily exist at the visible level--they are my friends. I'll take them back in my mother ship when it cruises by, they need a vacation. It’s hard to stay under the radar for that long on this planet!!
